Catching up!

This is Henry eating pasta last night at the Macaroni Grille. He LOVED it!

Rob can't catch a break (and doesn't want to!) anymore! All day long Henry chases him around the house saying "I play G Joe with Daddeee!" Rob had no idea what he was wishing for when he said he wanted a son to share his GI Joes with!!

Henry is so funny climbing up the stairs! He looks like a little monkey!

This is our first trip to Chipotle since Rob's been home. It is Rob's FAVORITE food so he was pretty excited... Until Henry asked to sit next to him and rubbed his little black bean covered face all over Rob's khaki shorts! I forget that Rob hasn't seen the monster really eat since he kicked the bottle! Sorry about that!

I've been a blog slacker this week, and I know it. I promise to do better soon...

Fun at the Fair!

About a week ago we took a trip to the Maryland State Fair! It was crowded, and loud, and everything a fair should be!!
Daddy helped Henry with his first ever carnival game! It was pretty exciting, especially when they won a tiny blue stuffed dinosaur! Henry thought that was such a great treat.

There were several animals there for Henry to talk to and he wanted to see them all!

From the Porch

This evening we spent some time out on the porch letting Henry and Ollie play in the yard.

Everyone's all smiles now that Dad's home!

We bought these great rockers for the porch this weekend and Rob finished putting all of them together last night. It was such a fun idea! It's great to be able to hang out and watch Henry explore!

Welcome Home Daddy!

Yesterday was the big day!!! After 8 months away Daddy finally came home!
At the airport a wonderful group called "Operation Welcome Home" gathers to greet every soldier coming home with all of these posters and goodie bags, as well as cheers and flags!

Henry definitely thought his sign belonged on the wall! He was pretty impressed with his own art work.

It took a while for everyone to make it through customs so Henry used the time to go on a Daddy hunt!

Lots of cheers for this guy!!

Finally back together!

Henry and Dada went 'runnin runnin!' around the terminal for a few minutes to get Henry to warm up to Dad. But that was all it took! Now it's like they were never apart.

Dada's hat!

As you know, I bought a house while Rob was gone and it was so fun to get to drive him to his new home yesterday! Henry loved getting to show him the steps and the porch.

Rob didn't have a lot of down time between Ollie and Henry. They were both pretty adamant that he was going to do what they wanted!

This morning Henry finally got to see what was in that case he's been playing with for a month! He was pretty amazed by his dad, but hey who isn't!

Right now they are down in the basement throwing a ball and all I here is giggles and claps. We are so thankful to God for His protection over Rob while he was gone and over his trip home! We've missed him so much and are so glad to be home again!!

Outside Fun

I love Maryland weather! It was a beautiful 83* day today and perfect weather for some time outside. Henry LOVES to be outside and to chase Ollie around the yard.

Henry's new snack

Tonight Henry was playing peek-a-boo with Grammy on the web cam.And when he was done I told him I would give him a snack and his milk, which is what happens before bath and bed.
Tonight I gave him a Graham Cracker for a snack, and he looked at me and said "Grammy Cracker? Oh yum, yum!"

Right after this picture Ollie got Henry's snack, which is usually cool with him but tonight he cried and cried "No Ollie! My Grammy Cracker! MY Grammy!" So I had to give him another one. It was too funny!

Smile!

So it hasn't been blog back log. I've been busier than I anticipated! I've had to work really hard to get the house in order super fast, because ..... Rob's coming home early! Nothing with the military is for certain until boots are on the ground, but it's looking good for him to be home on the 25th!
Here are some shots from a few minutes ago. Henry was playing with my phone and I said to stop because 'your hands are disgusting' due to him just eating a bunch of Dibs and he looked at his hands for a half second and then licked them! It was so funny!! He got so tickled that he made me laugh that he was laughing too!

This is one cute silly face!

Blog Crazy!

Henry channeling Bono.
We took Henry's Ms. Kelli shirt off for dinner so he wouldn't ruin it with his pasta.

Even though he demanded a fork, his hand works so much better!

"Oh forget it!"

Weeks without internet makes Kasey crazy!!! Prepare for some serious blog backlog.

We're Back!

We took a break from moving in yesrterday and took Dane to D.C.

We walked around the District for two hours and had a lot of fun!
But then it was back to the grind.

Henry was very busy walking the stairs...

and turning the light on and off in the foyer. He thinks it's very funny!!!

And a VERY special thanks to Patti Weaver for Esther. This move wouldn't have been possible wihtout it! Henry is 'Esser' crazy!! He would watch it from the time he wakes up until the time he goes to bed. He knows all the songs (favorites being Single Ladies and Fabulous!) and sings them all the time. However, we may have reached our breaking point a few nights ago when he woke up bawling at 2 am about 'Jews!' I thought he wanted juice so I went and got it for him, but when I brought it back he took a drink and then kept crying 'Jews! Jews!' for like half an hour. If Summer Spectacular touched no one else, Henry loves it enough for 1,000 kids!

A quick glimpse!

I'm having to give you just a few shots of Henry and the house, because I'm at Panera using their free WiFi and Henry's driving Crazy crazy. But here are a few!Henry helping paint his new room!

Snack time on the stairs.

Henry's stroller is having to double as a high chair until his gets here Tuesday, but he doesn't seem to mind. PS- Em, good thing that blue chair fit in my car, because it's the only real furniture in the house!!

More pictures to come on Thursday when the glory that is internet/cable is installed in my house!!!

What a Day.

Today has been a long one. After much anticipation, we did not get to close on the house this afternoon due to a goof up with the post office and some much needed paper work. After a day of phone calls our mortgage guy, John Councilman, was able to pull a rabbit out and God willing we will close tomorrow at 11. This is great news after the turmoil of the day! If anyone in Maryland is looking for the best, call John at AMC mortgage. He apparently is a miracle worker part time.
Anyway, the new twist in our home buying adventure has landed me at the Sheraton for the night with my gal pal Julie! That's a great bonus!! We're both really excited about tomorrow afternoon to see Greg, Aaron, and Johnny after a few months apart. It's amazing to me that we're all still friends. And I don't mean that ugly. I am amazed that God has granted me the opportunity to have such dear friends for over half of my life. We have all chosen different paths in life. Everyone else went and finished school, while I got married very young. Everyone started grown up jobs; being a mom, coaching, working, recruiting teachers for inner city kids, and even our very own secret service agent! We've spread out over four different states and are each leading incredible lives in their own way, but they are always apart of me where ever I go. Any time we are able to get together we make our best attempts, and while those are few and far between, and usually spent poking fun relentlessly at each other, they are precious times in my life. Only God would have brought us together, and I know that only He is keeping us together. Through our relationship with Him we formed relationships with each other and for that I am eternally grateful.
