Silly!

Henry is such a character! This was him tonight after finishing off an Oreo. He loves to make us laugh, and is really good at doing it!

This is him running at a park we visited this evening.

And this was him yesterday. He's gotten into playing 'bocks' and is surprisingly good at it! He was building them over his head before they collapsed. When they did collapse he would laugh and knock the remaining ones down saying 'Henny smash!' and then start all over again! He's such a precious little guy!

Whiz Kid

Last night I went to the grocery store and bought a big bag of M&M's for Henry and told him "When you go teetee or poop on the potty, you get a chocolate!" So he talked about them until bed time. Well, it wasn't so much talking as it was screaming that he wanted one. When he woke up this morning he said "I wan chocit." and I said, "You have to go on the potty to get chocolate." and he said "Okay." and went into the bathroom downstairs. I followed him in there and took off his diaper and he sat down and after a second I saw his little tummy tighten and he said "Well look at that!" and stood up and had POOPED! It was awesome!! He was clapping for himself saying "Yea Henny! Get chocit!" So I gave him 4 :) Since then he has done two more little poops and a pee! Honestly, I think the kid will do anything for chocolate (he gets that from me!) so going to the potty is no big thing to him as long as it results in an M&M or 2. We are so proud of our big boy!

Star Gazing

Last night the news said it was going to be a cool clear night so we decided to do a little star watching. They were right on both parts, it was very clear and it was very cool!

The pink "pash" was Henry's favorite part. When he would need a star break he used it to shine on our house or the trees in the back yard.

When we came back inside to put Henry to bed he was walking around saying 'I saw staaaars and moooooon and AIRPANE!!' He is so funny! When I got him out of bed this morning he asked if we were going downstairs to see the stars.

Riding the Ball

Yesterday we were all out in the back yard playing with this giant ball Grammy got Henry when she and Dane were here and he got the bright idea to "Ride it!" Then he proved he was all boy by climbing on it and falling off, usually on his face, over and over again! I would be concerned, but the grass is pretty soft and he thought it was hilarious!

After many failed attempts to ride the ball he gave up and started eating the grass. He's a super weirdo- just like Dad!

Tahoe

We had such a blast in Tahoe! It almost, almost makes me wish I lived in Cali again. Well, Tahoe, Cali! It is such a beautiful place. Probably one of my favorite places of all time.
This is Emerald Bay. It's a little cove off of the lake and a million years ago an old wealthy woman bought 28 acres of it and built a 'mansion' that is still standing there. You too can visit it if you want to walk 1 mile down hill and then 1 mile STRAIGHT back up.

Unfortunately, neither Rob or I ever did scouts so we accidentally passed where we were supposed to be and ended up walking an extra mile around the bay and then of course an extra mile back to see:

You can see here how impressed I was. :) We did the math, and realized our house is older than this one!

It was actually a really nice walk (minus the uphill section) and a beautiful day for it.

It was a great time! If you're ever offered a chance to go- take it!!

AEOT

Last night at church we went to see a group of children from Uganda that were on tour in the US. It was Henry's first experience sitting in this new auditorium and I wasn't sure how he would do. He has seen Maelie's Spring Show and Summer Spectacular so I knew he had the capability of sitting and watching, but I just didn't know if he would want to. Boy did he surprise me!! He LOVED watching these kids sing and dance! At one point they went off stage to get water and Henry started calling out "Priends! Priends! Ere you go?!" It was so cute!
At one point they encouraged who ever wanted to to join them on stage and learn a dance. Henry was all for it so Dad took him up there to dance with his new priends.

Once he came and sat back down to watch the rest of the program he kept saying "Mama I cappin! I cappin!" We all had a great time getting to see the kids and getting to know more about the AEOT program. If they ever make it back here we will definitely being going again!

Catching up!

This is Henry eating pasta last night at the Macaroni Grille. He LOVED it!

Rob can't catch a break (and doesn't want to!) anymore! All day long Henry chases him around the house saying "I play G Joe with Daddeee!" Rob had no idea what he was wishing for when he said he wanted a son to share his GI Joes with!!

Henry is so funny climbing up the stairs! He looks like a little monkey!

This is our first trip to Chipotle since Rob's been home. It is Rob's FAVORITE food so he was pretty excited... Until Henry asked to sit next to him and rubbed his little black bean covered face all over Rob's khaki shorts! I forget that Rob hasn't seen the monster really eat since he kicked the bottle! Sorry about that!

I've been a blog slacker this week, and I know it. I promise to do better soon...

Fun at the Fair!

About a week ago we took a trip to the Maryland State Fair! It was crowded, and loud, and everything a fair should be!!

Daddy helped Henry with his first ever carnival game! It was pretty exciting, especially when they won a tiny blue stuffed dinosaur! Henry thought that was such a great treat.

There were several animals there for Henry to talk to and he wanted to see them all!

From the Porch

This evening we spent some time out on the porch letting Henry and Ollie play in the yard.

Everyone's all smiles now that Dad's home!

We bought these great rockers for the porch this weekend and Rob finished putting all of them together last night. It was such a fun idea! It's great to be able to hang out and watch Henry explore!

Welcome Home Daddy!

Yesterday was the big day!!! After 8 months away Daddy finally came home!
At the airport a wonderful group called "Operation Welcome Home" gathers to greet every soldier coming home with all of these posters and goodie bags, as well as cheers and flags!

Henry definitely thought his sign belonged on the wall! He was pretty impressed with his own art work.

It took a while for everyone to make it through customs so Henry used the time to go on a Daddy hunt!

Finally back together!

Henry and Dada went 'runnin runnin!' around the terminal for a few minutes to get Henry to warm up to Dad. But that was all it took! Now it's like they were never apart.

As you know, I bought a house while Rob was gone and it was so fun to get to drive him to his new home yesterday! Henry loved getting to show him the steps and the porch.

Rob didn't have a lot of down time between Ollie and Henry. They were both pretty adamant that he was going to do what they wanted!

This morning Henry finally got to see what was in that case he's been playing with for a month! He was pretty amazed by his dad, but hey who isn't!

Right now they are down in the basement throwing a ball and all I here is giggles and claps. We are so thankful to God for His protection over Rob while he was gone and over his trip home! We've missed him so much and are so glad to be home again!!
