Yesterday Henry was just on. The three of us were outside cutting down the big green monster in the front yard and anytime we would stop Hen was saying something hilarious. Here are a few quotes:
me (in the car on the way home from Sams)- "We can start cutting now, or we could feed Henry and lay him down for a nap and then start."
Hen- "But I just woke up!" (which is not true. He had been awake for roughly 5 hours at this point)
While Rob and I were working Henry knocked my glass of ice water over, looked at me and froze, and then said, 'It's okay Mama. Accidents happen!'
Then when he was sitting in his high chair for lunch I asked him how things were going and without looking at me or missing a beat he said very dryly, "things are going great."
These may not be that funny if you weren't here, but we had a good laugh! I'll have before and after pictures of the yard work we've been doing over the past two days, but it will be a few more days before everything is cut and bundled and ready for yard trash day. This tree must have been in this yard since the house was built, because it was so freaking big! Really, truly a big, green monster. Now all of our neighbors have come over to comment on how different the block looks with it down! It was THAT big!!

Benadryl
Friday Henry and I spent most of the day playing outside having a great time and getting filthy. I took him in for a bath and when I was standing in the kitchen afterwards making dinner I saw his ear and thought "Crap! He's bleeding!" Nope. His ear was deep red and swelling like a little balloon! Poor guy had a reaction to something (still unclear what) and has spent the weekend sipping Benadryl. Thankfully, it's looking almost normal today!

Zoo Trip with Quinn
Yesterday we were able to go to the zoo with Ms. Becca and 'baby' Quinn. Becca and I have been in a Bible study since last fall and when it ended last week we decided we should set up some play dates starting with a trip to the zoo. It was a cloudy cool day, which is the best zoo weather! Emily says it means the animals are roary instead of just laying around dying in the heat.

Big Boy Bed
Another milestone down! Tonight is Henry's first night in his 'big boy bed' and he is super excited about it!! He didn't even let Rob finish a Curious George book or tell an airplane story. He just wanted to get in, get his pacis, and pull the covers up! This is such a terrible/great experience. I can't believe how big he's getting!!
Henry
Henry is getting so big waaaay too fast!! He went with Rob and I to a photo session this morning and became instant friends with the 5 year old I was meeting and last week met and played with a 9 year old while we were waiting for Rob at Andrews AF Base. It's so strange to see my BABY playing with those big kids!! I guess he may not be as small as I want him to be!
