Everybody jump! Jump!

There really isn't anything in our house that we're all that precious about furniture wise. The headboard is probably the only thing I would try and save in a fire. We've had our couches for 6 years and if they could last through George, they can last through anything so it doesn't bother me at all when Hen wants to walk on them, or hide in the cushions, or tonight JUMP! I probably shouldn't allow it, but who can resist this face?!

He was REALLY excited that I was on board with this and even more so when I got out the camera!
We have lift off!

Look at those monkey toes!

I'm willing to put up with a lot that results in this face!

Zoo!

With Rob's new schedule having him sleeping through the bulk of the day I decided we need to find somethings to do outside the house so we thought we would give the local zoo a try. We had been going to the National Zoo in DC and loved it, but at our new house that's now an hour a way at least. Anything that contains the word "Baltimore" is a little sketchy to me, but it's only 10 minutes from the house. I'm so glad we tried it!! We ended up buying a zoo pass that day so we can go all the time! Unfortunately, the first day we went there (last Friday) was Zoo-Day-From-Hell, aka Pre-k Day. There were TONS of kids everywhere and not a lot of space to be found. These pics are all from that day. On Saturday it rained all night and Sunday after breakfast at 'the pancake store' we thought we'd give it another go. Our car was one of about 8 in the parking lot! We walked around for an hour an a half and only ran into two other families the whole time. It was like we had the place to our selves and it was a lot of fun!! The morning after a rain is apparently the best zoo time!
Getting ready to go!

We found this little grassy hill to have a picnic on that was right across from the elephants so the whole time we got to watch them training with the zoo keepers! It was so great!

Henry wanted to climb so bad!

All I can say is the Baltimore Zoo is GREAT! Next time you come to visit we'll take you there. Our pass is for us and an adult and kid guest!! Pack those bags!

Henry's Funny for the Day!

My 2 year old came up to me tonight while I was editing some pictures and told me "Mommy, look at my butt hole." I said, "Come again?" and he said, "Look at this butt hole! It's a butt hole." Since he was wearing pants, and to my knowledge doesn't know that word, I was pretty confused. Then I saw what he was pointing at.. He had on my brown gloves. The ones with the buttons on them. And yes, the button holes! I laughed so hard!! This kid makes my day everyday.

Timber.

After a lot of discussion (ha!) we decided that the trees that were bent in the big snows were not a) really savable or b) worth the effort. While I'm sad about losing an interesting part of our landscape, Rob is super jazzed because he got to buy a chainsaw!
Isn't that a handsome logger?!

Isn't that a hansome bystander?!

And now this is what we have to deal with. Everything we wont be using for kindling, or an art project in Henry's room...., has to be cut into 3ft. segements, bundled and dropped on the curb next Wednesday.

Henry has decided he is too cool to have his picture taken (or he's sick of doing it all the time) so I have to try to trick him into it. I told him "Look! Hen! There's a bear on my camera and he says..MOO!" and he turned and looked at me with that face and said "No. He doesn't." and then walked off. He really may be too cool...

Henry's Funny/Gross for the Day!

Everyone in our house is at some stage of sick right now. Henry started us off last week with a cold, fever, cough, and then I picked it up this weekend. Poor Rob seems doomed to get it before long (his cough is already right on que). So today I made home made chicken noodle soup to help us feel better. It was working until Henry started singing from his high chair 'an on this farm there were baby chickens! e-o-e-o-e-ooo!' (bite) over an over again. Needless to say, lunch for me was over at that point and now I'm thinking about becoming a vegetarian :) At least he's not grossed out by the idea.

Oh say can you see?

So Henry has weird quirks, right? That's not a secret. Before he left for Texas he liked things a certain way, and now that he's back it hasn't changed much. I have never before in all of my life met a kid that prefers (aka demands) that he be sung the National Anthem while being tucked in at night. But Henry does. He likes for Rob and I to sing it together if we are both in the room while he's going to bed and he likes it more if Rob will stand while he sings it. So tonight, while putting him in his crib, handing him two pacis (one in his mouth, and one to rub in his eye...) Rob and I stood and dutifully sang from "Oh" to "Freeee!"

Our Nation's Capitol

Henry and Dad paying a visit to Lincoln.

The cherry blossom's are in full force.

The Washington Monument.

Two wild and crazy guys!

This stretch is in between the Washington Monument and the White House, but really these trees are everywhere! This was the last weekend that they are 'in season' but they are still really pretty. When the flowers start to fall off the white petals are everywhere and Henry kept saying 'Look it's SNOW!' At least we know he isn't sick of the white stuff after this crazy winter!!

Happy Easter!

Henry is home!! He and Grammy flew in on Friday and we were able to take some 'Easter' pictures Saturday afternoon. Henry hunted eggs with Maelie and Lorelai in Texas last weekend so hunting them alone at our house didn't seem that awesome. He did get an Easter basket that he was pretty jazzed about though!

These are the ones from Saturday:

We had a great time having Grammy here this weekend and can't wait for the rest of you to make it out this way!

Spring Fling

Spring has arrived at our house and we are loving every colorful minute! There are daffodils everywhere in this area and everything else is coming up in beautiful pinks and greens. I never knew I was such a fan of Spring!
I'm giving the sun about 30 more minutes to dry up the grass and then going out to mow. The King arrives tomorrow and he's going to need fresh cut grass :)

New Stripes!

Last night Rob was congratulated at work. Apparently his promotion was effective yesterday! So today he had to drop his uniforms off to be altered to add that handsome new stripe!!

Looks good doesn't it?!

That's the new one :)

Getting ready as a new Tsgt!

"Oh this stripe makes it so heavy!"

He was actually getting pens out of the uniform he wore last night, but I like the symbolism.

Don't you feel protected now?

Off we go into the wild blue yonder!
Congrats honey! Henry and I are so proud of you and love you so very much!
