Day 3

So I have worked for 2 days and this is where I stand. Yuck. However, there are only 10 unopened boxes left in the house! I feel that is an accomplishment. And yes, that is Henry asleep in the carseat on the couch. My feeling is 'if he's asleep, let him be!'

I don't know what 'let him be' means...

Garage sale pile! Who wants my junk?

This is my kitchen. All of it. Yeah, it's small.

And this is my monster! He's wearing a long sleeve thermal shirt!

Catching up this week!

This is our house on the beginning of Day One!
It's pretty bare, but we've been running on basically nothing since we left California.
So we are very excited that this morning the big truck rolled up full of all of our crap!
Wahoo crap!

I think Rob was more impressed that he can still wrap these belts around himself than anything else!

Henry and I were very excited/tired after the busy day! This was his first time to be on our couches! And as you can see, our back patio is loooooaded with more crap!

800 sq ft. vs. 1600 sq ft of crap..... Yikes.

Henry says, "Wahoo crap!"

It's been a busy day and we'll keep you posted with our progress. We have to get this under control... Miss Julie is coming to visit on Friday! Yea!!!!

My first trip to the nursery!

Mom made me dress up to go to nursery while she went to Bible study, because she didn't want to look like slacker mom. But when I got there everyone else was in footie pjs! Next week, I'm going comfy!

I have to admit I look good though!

Yeah, I'm a cutie...

Henny

Now that's comfort! Grammy bought
Henry a wedge for his bed, but he puked
all over it, so I've been putting him in his Boppy.
It it my new best friend! He's been sleeping
7 hour stretches in it every night!! I covered it with the
carseat cover mom made him for the plane ride, because
the first night he and I were here I put it on him because it
smelled like mom's house and he literally grabbed it in both
hands and pulled it up to his face and slept like that! He wouldn't
let go. So I figure if it's that comforting, he can sleep on it everynight!

He makes this face everytime he sees Ollie!
It is sooo funny! he can be in the middle of
a melt down, and she'll walk by and his eyes
bug out!

He's decided that he loves his baby papasan...
now that he's a foot too long for it!!

My McLove Story...

Today was a pretty good day! I'll let you experience it through the magic of pictures...

Aunt Nita and Uncle Mike were big sweethearts and offered to babysit for me while I went to see Definetly, Maybe with Em, Mom, and Crazy and while we were there......

McDreamy tried to win my heart with the promise of marraige! It was a pretty tempting offer....

But in the end, I decided I couldn't leave this face.

It's a pretty cute face!

Hospital visit - part 2

I have found out recently that people actually look at this thing, and have been reprimanded for lack of photos. SO, here are pictures from our latest, and hopefully last, adventure in Hospital Land...

This was Henry's scary hospital bed. It was so big and the railings went up sooo high! He wasn't a big fan of it, but I wasn't suprised. He's not a big fan of any crib or playpen we've tried so far. I guess he'll just have to be held all the time......

He'g going to be huge!!

The flu sucks

And I didn't have it (yet). Monday Henry had a Dr. appt where we found out he was perfect (yes the dr used those exact words) at 1:00 pm. Fast Forward to 1:30 am. Henry is literally wimpering in his bassinet. Not crying, just letting out the saddest, most pathetic noise I've ever heard. The second I picked him up I knew something wasn't right. He was burning up and still making the same noise. I took his temp 3 times before calling my poor mom in a panic. "I'm reading the stupid book and it says to call the Dr. if ther's a fever, but what is a fever for a one month old?!" Mom tells me to call the Dr. and the Dr. on call says to take Henry to the ER immediately. We live literally less than 2 minutes from the hospital, and in the time it took for me to throw on shoes, wake up Rob and get to the hospital Henry's 100.3 fever shot to 102.5 and they take my poor sweet baby to a room and begin a battery of tests. He was poked in each arm twice, poked in the heel, and given a spinal tap. FYI, that is how I thought I was going to die. It was like my heart was being torn apart to watch his tiny body have that happen, and have his little shoulders just shuddering and know that there was nothing I could do to comfort him at all. Well, at 4 they announced, it is the flu. And since Henry is only a month old, he was hospitalized for two days. The pediatric nurses are my heros. They were the sweetest, most loving group of women that were so gentle with him and really acted like they cared about how he was feeling, and how I was doing. I am so grateful that he was in such good hands. His fever lowered to 99.0 and once he started to eat and actually keep it down, he was released.
Now I know I have a perfect baby (I don't disagree with Dr.s), but God has blessed me with a beautiful boy that spent the day in his bassinet while his daddy, his Grandpa, and I packed up our apartment for our next move without crying. And then, he sat in his carseat and slept the whole drive back to his grandparent's house to spend some time before we move to MD. I can not believe how lucky I am. And this is four fold luck. I'll explain.
1. My Henry is home and is doing so much better. He's sleeping and eating without much complaints. He's rolling along with the moving and changing his whole life. And he's adorable.
2. My husband, although called useless most of the time, really shined today with the packing of the house. Even though we had planned to do a little everyday and that was completely shot by the hospital visit, he just rocked it out and packed and packed and packed!
3. My father-in-law drove all the way to San Angelo to help us out. He came in said "this is what we need to do" and then did it! He had done in 2 hours what would have taken Rob all day by himself. HE says its because of all of his years at Delta loading planes, but I think it's because he has a little superhero in him.
4. And last, but def. not least, my sister. I cry now just thinking of how much it meant to me that she jumped in the car and drove to the hospital to sit with me and Henry during such a rough patch. And though she offered to go to the apartment to pack, she was right there beside me where I needed her most. I love to see her with my baby. She loves him so much and it is such an amazing thing to see the two of them together. I know she was already an aunt, but I hope she understands now how fiercely I love her Maelie. Being Mae's aunt is such an honor. I know that sounds stupid, but I love that kid and am so seriously honored that she is my niece. And now she's Henry's Auntie Em! This is the second time in a month she has put her life, her family, her work on hold to be with me. I love my sister. I love my brother-in-law and niece for giving up their time with her to make things happen.
I am so lucky.

Henry has gone cordless!

My baby has taken his first step into big kid-hood. He lost his tiny cord last night! Rob and I were very excited, but also a little sad. Already he's hitting milestones! I guess there's no stopping progress. His little belly button is so cute! I have yet to find something about him that isn't cute though. He's such a sweet blessing. I am amazed that God has trusted us with him. Right now Rob is rocking him and talking to him about life. They are so cute together! Rob is the best daddy. He is so gentle and patient and willing to learn how to do everything. He's been at every bath time, he knows how to make a formula bottle and heat up a breast milk bottle, change diapers, and get him into his footie pjs!
I love my new family. I love that I get to do this with Rob. I love that sweet Henry is ours.

Announcing Baby Henry!!

He's here!! He's adorable!! and he's already a week old!!!!! He was born january 3rd at 2:22 p.m weighing in at 8 lbs 3 oz, and 21 inches long! I can't believe that he's already been in the world for a week. I am so very much in love with him. He is the greatest baby ever! He sleeps all the time, which I know could change in a heart beat, but it's awesome now! He only woke up twice last night to eat! I was really worried that he was going to have a rough night because he slept so much yesterday, and today is my first day on my own, but he did great. I have had Em with me for a week now, which has been so much fun and she was so great. I feel so blessed to have such a sweet sister (who would have thought I would have called her that 10 years ago!) that would spend her time here helping Rob and I. And what a sweet brother-in-law and neice I have to share her time with us! Kyle and Maelie are very lucky to have her. I know Henry was very sad to see her go! He almost woke up for it... : ) We can't wait to go home next weekend to see everybody again. For some reason my computer doesn't have his pictures uploaded, so i'll edit this with them later from Rob's. He's too cute not to see : )

10 hours and counting...

I am currently 10 hours from d-day! I can't believe it's here. I have to be in the hospital to be induced at 3 am! And then it's anybody's guess as to how long this can go. I've read about women who are induced and then 4 hours later they have the baby, and then there are some that are induced and it takes many, many more hours... I'm hoping I'm one of the former women. Nine months is a long time to carry around this massive tummy, but it's also a looong time to wait to see sweet Henry! I am so excited to see his face tomorrow!! And then we go home and our family begins.... SCARY!!!! A good scary, but still scary. I'll be switching to a different blog when we get home from the hospital that will be dedicated to Henry instead of my crazy ramblings. I'll email out that blog name when I get it set up.
Wish me luck....

Happy New Year

So 2007 is a thing of the past, and 2008 is the now. And with it it brought no Henry. Boo. Oh well, what's 2 more days? Rob and I had a very quiet evening watching the Planet Earth dvd set (very cool by the way) and waiting to see if the contractions went anywhere. They didn't. But now we can say 'it's 2008. It's the year of the Henry!' I can't believe he will be born this year. I really can't believe it will be in 2 days. We are so excited to see him! That's probably an understatement. Rob's been having dreams about him for months now. I think it's more about having a reason to kepp those stinkin' GI Joes around a little longer more than anything else, but it's cute.
My family comes in tomorrow to help get us pumped for the big day! I can't wait to see everyone. Especially, the Maelie. She is so funny! I can't believe she is so big and smart. Em says they were going to the store to pick something up for me and Mae said 'Choppin Sasey? Choppin Henee?' She knows we're a package deal. I can't wait to see her when she meets him. I'm excited to see how much of him she 'gets'. I hope this baby thinks about Rob as much as she does! Em says she's completely taken with him. She will say 'Good Geif Papa!' 'Good Geif Dada!' 'Good Geif BOB!' She's so great. We love her so much. I hope this baby is half as much fun as she is! I guess we will soon find out...
